Mark Alvarado (St Ignatius)
Alvarado scored 20 goals in four games at the Palatine
Tournament, leading the Wolfpack to wins over Curie, H-F, McHenry, and
Mundelein en route to a tournament title.
On Friday, he scored 4 times in a 12-3 win over McHenry
in a state quarterfinal rematch. He followed that with 5 scores in an 11-6
victory over Mundelein, scoring the first three goals of the game for the
Wolfpack.
In the championship round on Saturday, Alvarado tallied
3 scores in a 12-9 win over H-F and poured in 8 scores in a 12-10 victory
over Curie in the eventual title game.
Alvarado also tallied 7 goals
as St Ignatius knocked off St Viator 18-7 earlier in the week.
GIRLS
Jamie Pappanastos (Sandburg)
Pappanastos registered 20 goals in Sandburg's perfect weekend at the New
Trier Tournament, where they beat Evanston, New Trier, and Wheeling.
She scored on a lob shot from outside seven meters with
six seconds remaining to give Sandburg an 11-10 win over New Trier. She
totaled 6 goals in the win.
She also scored 8 times in a 13-8 victory over Wheeling
and added 6 goals in a 16-9 win over Evanston.
