Week 7
Boys
Tournament Previews
By Aaron Brown
The Week 7 tournament schedule
has to navigate around both Good Friday and Easter, so we'll see what's in store
over the weekend as we get closer and closer to the postseason:
Fenwick
Tournament
The top-ranked and undefeated
Friars welcome #2 Naperville Central, #12 Oak Park, and #18 Mundelein for
a six-game event on Saturday.
In last year's event, Fenwick
edged Oak Park by a goal to end up with a 3-0 record, while the Huskies
earned wins over both the Redhawks and the Mustangs. All four teams will
also be in attendance in next week's Stevenson Tournament as well.

round-robin format
GBS Tournament
Glenbrook South's third annual tournament has expanded to nine teams this
year, as #14 New Trier and #17 Naperville North join the fray. #7 Palatine
won the event last year over the nineteenth-ranked hosts, so the Pirates
will be looking for more of the same in 2011.
The tournament kicks off with six games on Thursday night, then continues
on Saturday with three more preliminary round games before the teams enter
the championship round. GBS starts in a group with Hersey and
Libertyville, Palatine is joined by Evanston and Lake Forest, and New
Trier, Naperville North, and Prospect are all part of the third group.
Format: 9 teams, 18 games,
championship bracket format
Metea Valley Tournament
The Mustangs host their first-ever tournament on Saturday, as Bremen,
Maine South, and St Charles East all take part in a six-game event that is
combined with a girls' tournament at the MV pool.
