Boys' Tournament

Here is a closer look at what transpired over the weekend at several
different boys' tournaments in Week 2:
Evanston
Tournament
McHenry earned wins over Bremen, Evanston, GBS,
GBN, and St Viator to win the Evanston Tournament with a 5-0 record.
The Warriors used a balanced attack to achieve perfection, with
Dylan Clohessy and Tim Briscoe
each scoring 9 goals, Lucas Matthys putting in 8 goals, and Drew
Schmitt adding 7 scores in the five game competition.
GBS finished in second place with a 4-1 record,
losing only to McHenry 14-9 on Friday.
Igor Gryniv led the Titans with 32 goals and Tom Meyer made a total of 53
saves in the four games.

Tournament

Hinsdale Central
Tournament
Lockport got their season started in fine fashion
as they ripped through the competition at the Hinsdale Central
Tournament and finished with a 4-0 record. Brian Cavanaugh and Chris
Bowman combined to score 45 goals in wins over the hosts, STC East,
Hinsdale South, and Lincoln-Way Central. In the title game, they
defeated Hinsdale Central 18-12.
STC North beat their rivals STC East 10-4 in the
third place game, Andrew topped LWC 11-5 to claim fifth place, and
Hinsdale South beat R-B 14-5 in the seventh place game.
Maine East Tournament
Maine South beat Bradley, Maine East, and Niles
West over the weekend to claim the first-ever Maine East Tournament
title. The Hawks held off the hosts 6-4 in the title game to walk
away with a 3-0 record at the event.
Bradley and Von Steuben finished tied for third
place after each team earned one win at the competition, while Niles
West and Northside finished in a 6-6 draw in the fifth place game.
Vernon Hills
Tournament
Libertyville enjoyed the
weekend at the Vernon Hills Tourney, as they finished with a 4-0
record after earning wins over the hosts, Barrington,
Deerfield/Highland Park, and Lake Forest.
Deerfield/Highland Park,
Lake Forest, and Vernon Hills each ended the weekend with two wins
and finished in a three-way tie for second place.
