Week 2
Fenwick
Tournament Report
By Aaron Brown
Fenwick hosts the twelfth annual Dan
Lynch Classic this weekend, beginning on Thursday afternoon and stretching
all the way until Saturday night. This year's competition features
thirteen teams, four brackets, and twenty-six games. When the smoke clears
from the weekend, we should have a better idea of what to expect for the
rest of the season.
Thursday Report
In the headline match on day one of the Fenwick
Tournament, #4 Lyons edged #6 Brother Rice (11-10) in another close
encounter between the two teams. In other action, H-F earned victories in
their first two games (Curie, St Patrick) and will wait until Saturday
morning to match up with the host Friars, who knocked off St Patrick 13-6
in the tournament's first contest.
Meanwhile, Oak Park and St Ignatius won their first
games of the tournament and will look to make it two straight when they
return to action again on Friday night.
Friday Report
Fenwick started the night with their second win of the
tourney, beating Curie in convincing fashion 11-2. Naperville Central
followed that with a big 8-2 victory over Oak Park and later beat
Stevenson.

the event as well, while Brother Rice and Neuqua Valley ended their game
in an 11-11 draw. Naperville North beat LWE to finish second in their group (LWE

their own tournament. The Friars were the only team to finish with a
perfect 4-0 record over the weekend, as they earned wins over Curie, H-F,
