Dan Newell (Fenwick)
Newell made 36 saves in four major wins at the Stevenson Tournament over
the weekend, including 11 saves in wins over Brother Rice and NC.
Cody Koress/Gavin Taves (New Trier)
Taves made a key stop with 0:10 left to send the game with Mundelein to a
shootout, where Koress took over in goal and allowed just two goals in
five chances as the Trevians beat
the Mustangs 15-14.
GIRLS
Emily Tylka (Mundelein)
The Mundelein goalkeeper made 44 saves in three victories over Barrington,
Evanston, and Fremd in Week 8.
Vasi Vasilopoulos (Bremen)
The Red Jaguars' goalie earned her first career shutout and allowed just
four goals per game as Bremen won the Independent Conference tournament
over the weekend. She also allowed only four goals in Thursday's win over
Latin.

Naperville North Beats Lyons
The Huskies shocked the defending champions 6-4 on
Tuesday evening.

The Indians handed the Knights their first loss of the
season in the title game of the Lane Tournament.
Metea Defeats Schaumburg
The Mustangs earned an impressive 8-5 win over a ranked
opponent when they beat Schaumburg in Week 8.
News and Notes
Conference Tournaments Begin
There are several conference tournaments that get
underway this week, with the Chicago Public League getting things started
at the beginning of Week 9. The MSL plays their conference title games on
Wednesday (girls) and Thursday (boys), while the Catholic League playoffs
also get started on Thursday. The CSL and WSC start on Friday, while H-F
does battle with Sandburg (boys) on Wednesday to decide the SWSC title.
