Week 7
The
following is a summary of what took place during the seventh week of the
season. This is not a complete list and we can only include a few people
in this summary, but the purpose is to recognize a few of the best
performances from each week.

Volume VII
Biggest Impact
BOYS
Connor Brown (Fenwick)
Brown scored 11 times in Fenwick's wins over Mundelein, NC, and Oak Park
at the Fenwick Quad on Saturday.
Justin Behrens/Kamil Mulawa (Palatine)
Behrens and Mulawa combined to score 34 goals at the GBS Tournament,
helping the Pirates win the event over the weekend. Mulawa also scored 13
goals in wins over Fremd and Hoffman during the week, while Behrens put in
4 goals in the win over Fremd.

GIRLS
Gena Wendt (Fenwick)
Wendt scored the game-winning goal in a 6-5 win over NC to help the Friars
reclaim the top spot in the rankings. She also scored 5 goals in wins over
Oak Park and St Viator during Week 7.
Karen Lowry (Stevenson)
Lowry scored 10 goals in wins over Fremd and McAuley on Saturday and
helped Stevenson win their own tournament with a 3-0 record. Her top
performance came when she scored 5 goals in a 6-5 win over McAuley. She
also scored 8 goals in wins over Bremen and York during the week.

Top Goalie Performances
BOYS
Dan Sommerfeld (Palatine)
Sommerfeld was named the MVP of the GBS Tournament after making 40 saves
and helping Palatine with the event. He also stopped 28 more shots in wins
over Fremd and Hoffman earlier in the week.

GIRLS
Julia Campbell (Naperville Central)
Campbell allowed 5 goals in three games as NC won their own event with
wins over Evanston, Jenison, and Sandburg. She also totaled 41 saves in
the three wins.
Devin Green (Marian)
Green made 33 saves and stopped 3 penalty shots to lead Marian to the
Naperville North Tournament title over the weekend. She also made 16 saves
in a 6-4 win over WV earlier in the week.

Biggest
Surprises
BOYS
Mundelein Shocks Naperville Central
The Mustangs went on a 9-0 run in the second half to
knock off then #2 Naperville Central at the Fenwick Tournament.
Naperville North Upsets Palatine
The Huskies surprised #8 Palatine with a 12-10 win
earlier in the week (then fell to the Pirates 8-7 over the weekend).
GIRLS
Marian's Sectional Seed
Marian won the Naperville North Tournament and earned
wins over both NN and Waubonsie Valley in Week 7, yet somehow only got the
fifth-seed at the LWN Sectional.
News and Notes
Sectional Pairings Set
The postseason field and pairings are set for 2011,
with the only thing left to determine are the game time for Saturday's
sectional final games on May 14.
