Week 4
The
following is a summary of what took place during the fourth week of the
season. This is not a complete list and we can only include a few people
in this summary, but the purpose is to recognize a few of the best
performances from each week.

Biggest Impact
BOYS
Connor Brown/Viken Huening (Fenwick)
Connor Brown led the Friars with 16 goals in three victories over Brother
Rice, McHenry, and St Viator during the fourth week of the season. Viken
Huening also recorded 7 goals and 12 assists in the three wins for
Fenwick.
Kyle Pikula/Mike Mulcrone (Brother Rice)
Pikula and
Mulcrone totaled 29 goals at the Brother Rice Tournament, leading the
Crusaders to a 4-0 record with victories over Lockport, Loyola, Sandburg,
and St Patrick.

GIRLS
Brittany Wallace (Loyola)
Wallace recorded 16 goals and 12 steals as Loyola pushed their winning
streak to nine games with wins over Evanston, McAuley, and Sandburg this
week.
Mary Reilly (Lincoln-Way East)
Reilly totaled 9 goals, 9 assists, and 10 steals to help lead the
Griffins' to their own tournament title over the weekend.

Top Goalie Performances
BOYS
Dan Newell (Fenwick)
The Friars' goaltender saved
8 shots in Fenwick's 11-4 win over Brother Rice early in the week, then
totaled 17 saves in Friday's 17-9 victory over McHenry. Newell also held
St Viator to just 6 goals in a 23-6 victory on Wednesday.
GIRLS
Sophie Schloen (Homewood-Flossmoor)
The Vikings' goalie earned a shutout on Thursday against LWN, making 8
saves in a 15-0 victory. She has been an integral part of an H-F defense
that is allowing just three goals per game.
Lauren Gorski (Richards)
Gorski recorded 44 saves at the Lincoln-Way Tournament, helping the
Bulldogs to a 2-1 record and a second place finish at the event.
Trisha Paul (Lincoln-Way East)
Paul finished the week with a 5-0 record in goal for the Griffins, helping
the team win its' own tournament title. She made a total of 63 saves in
two wins over Andrew and wins over LWN, LWW, and Richards this week.

Surprises
BOYS
2011 Sectional Assignments
McHenry and Palatine, sectional finalists at Barrington
last year, both shifted to the Vernon Hills Sectional this season.
GIRLS
Lincoln-Way West Beats Lincoln-Way Central
The Warriors 18-16 win on Friday night helped them
finish fourth at the LWE Tournament, while the Knights ended up finishing
in seventh-place after moving to the consolation bracket as a result of
the loss.

Fully Loaded Schedule
With Spring Break wrapping up for most schools, the
slate for Week 5 is loaded with games on every night. A total of 220 games
are scheduled for the week, with a total of 36 games on both Tuesday and
Thursday and 69 total games on Saturday (as a part of nine tournaments).
