Week 7 Ballers

 

BOYS

Connor Brown (Fenwick)

Brown led the Friars with 11 goals in home tournament wins over Mundelein, Naperville Central, and Oak Park.

 

Justin Behrens/Kamil Mulawa (Palatine)

Mulawa recorded 19 goals and Behrens added 15 scores himself as Palatine won the GBS Tournament with a 3-0-1 record. Mulawa also added 13 goals in wins over Fremd and Hoffman earlier in the week, while Behrens scored 4 times in the win over the Vikings.

 

Kyle Braun (McHenry)

Braun helped the Warriors finish the week with a 5-0 record with an 8-goal effort in a 13-8 victory over Schaumburg on Saturday morning. He also scored 4 times in a win over Deer Park and was a key offensive factor in wins over MW, Barrington, and Wheeling.

 

Peter Blume (St Patrick)

Blume scored 6 times in Monday night's 15-5 win over GBN and added 6 goals in an 11-6 victory over York on Tuesday.

 

Will Davidson (Mundelein)

Davidson returned to the Mustangs' lineup this week and totaled 11 goals in three games at the Fenwick Tourney, including a 5-goal performance in an 11-9 win over NC.

 

 

GIRLS

Amy Martello (Marian)

Martello led Marian on the offensive end with 12 goals at the Naperville North Tourney, an event that the Spartans won with a 3-0 record. She also scored 2 times in Marian's 6-4 victory over Waubonsie Valley earlier in the week.

 

Emma Martinus/Nora Plank (Bremen)

Plank totaled 14 goals and Martinus added 13 scores as Bremen won the Metea Valley Tournament on Saturday.

 

Eileen Mallof (St Viator)

Mallof scored 8 goals to lead the Lions' balanced offensive attack at the GBN Tournament, an event that St Viator won with a 3-1 mark over the weekend.

 

Gena Wendt (Fenwick)

Wendt scored the game-winning goal in the fourth quarter of Fenwick's 6-5 win over #1 Naperville Central on Thursday. She also scored 3 goals in a 12-2 win over St Viator and added 2 scores in an 8-2 victory over Oak Park during the seventh week of the season.

 

Julia Campbell (Naperville Central)

Campbell allowed just 5 goals in three games as NC won their own tournament with wins over Evanston, Jenison, and Sandburg. She totaled 41 saves in the three-game set to lead the Redhawks on the defensive end.

 

Kelly Baumgartner (Andrew)

Baumgartner scored a key overtime goal in Andrew's 8-6 win over Waubonsie Valley, recorded 3 scores in a 9-4 win over LWW, and helped the T-Bolts clinch the SWSC Red with 4 goals in an 11-7 victory over LWN.

 

Karen Lowry (Stevenson)

Lowry recorded 10 goals in wins over Fremd and McAuley on Saturday, helping the Patriots win their own tournament with a 3-0 record (Stevenson also beat Young at the event). Her top performance came when she scored 5 goals in a 6-5 win over McAuley. Earlier in the week, Lowry recorded 5 goals in a 15-6 win over Bremen and notched 3 scores in a 15-7 win over York.

 

Korey Flynn (Sandburg)

Flynn scored the game-winning goal from her own goal as Sandburg defeated Evanston 4-3 at the NC Tournament on Saturday. She also recorded 9 saves in the Eagles' victory. She also made 14 saves in Sandburg's 8-7 victory over Mother McAuley earlier in the week.

 

Mary Reilly (Lincoln-Way East)

Reilly totaled 17 goals and 14 steals to help LWE finish the Glenbrook North Tourney with a 3-1 record after wins over GBN, Libertyville, and Resurrection.

 

Megan Nerud (Naperville North)

Nerud scored 9 goals to lead the Huskies to a third-place finish at their own event on Saturday. She also registered

5 goals in North's 15-5 win over Hinsdale Central and 3 total goals in the Huskies' 12-10 win over Palatine earlier in the week.

 

Michelle Mayer (H-F)

Mayer scored 7 goals in H-F's 11-6 win over Sandburg, put in 5 goals in an 11-1 victory over LWC, and scored 3 times in the Vikings' 10-6 win over LWE during Week 7.

 

Tricia Bannister (Neuqua Valley)

Bannister scored 4 goals in Neuqua's 8-6 victory over Oak Park and recorded 5 scores as the Wildcats beat Jenison 10-6 on Friday night.

 

Sam del Prado (Fremd)

Fremd improved to 9-0 in the MSL this week as del Prado scored 5 goals in a 12-2 win over Barrington and added 4 scores in a 13-2 triumph over Palatine. She also led the Vikings in scoring at the Stevenson Tournament with 5 goals on Saturday.
