BOYS
Brendan Hulseman/Charlie Dowdle
(Loyola)
Hulseman and Dowdle combined for 21 goals, 9 assists, and 12 steals as
Loyola finished in third place with a 3-1 record at the
Brother Rice Tournament over the weekend. The Ramblers earned all three of
their wins over Lockport, Sandburg, and St Rita on Saturday. Dowdle also
led the Ramblers with 4 goals in a 9-8 win over St Pats on Monday.
Connor Brown/Viken Huening
(Fenwick)
Connor Brown led the Friars with 16 goals in three victories over Brother
Rice, McHenry, and St Viator during the fourth week of the season. Viken
Huening recorded 8 assists and a goal in Fenwick's 23-6 win over St Viator,
scored 3 times in an 11-4 victory over Brother Rice, and totaled 3 goals
to help the Friars beat McHenry 17-9.
Cyrus Deloye/Simon Kafka
(Northside)
Kafka's buzzer-beater helped Northside to a 12-11 win over Lincoln Park on
Thursday night. Deloye totaled 6 scores and Kafka recorded 3 goals in the
victory for the Mustangs.
Dan Newell
(Fenwick)
Newell stopped 8 shots in Fenwick's 11-4 win over Brother Rice on Monday,
then totaled 17 saves in Friday's 17-9 win over McHenry. He also held St
Viator to 6 goals in a 23-6 victory on Wednesday night.
Shay Banton
(Homewood-Flossmoor)
Banton scored 5 goals in a 12-9 win over Mundelein and put in 6 scores in
a 12-1 victory over LWN.
GIRLS
Allison Rocha (Lincoln-Way West)
Rocha totaled 12 goals over the weekend in three games, helping the
Warriors finish in fourth place at the Lincoln-Way Tourney. She scored 4
times in LWW's 18-16 upset win of LWC on Friday night, then tallied 6
scores in a slim 11-10 loss to Andrew in the third place game on Saturday.
Brittany Wallace
(Loyola)
Wallace totaled 16 goals and 12 steals to help Loyola earn wins over
Evanston, McAuley, and Sandburg during the fourth week of the season.
Danijela Jackovich
(Lincoln-Way Central)
Jackovich connected on a game-winning goal from midpool to give LWC a
17-16 victory over Richards on Wednesday. She totaled 10 goals in the win,
while also scoring 8 times in a 23-11 triumph over Stagg on Tuesday.
Jessica Cavaiani/Meg Dix
(Prospect)
The Knights' duo of Cavaiani and Dix combined to score 14 goals in wins
over Meadows and Wheeling to put them at the front of the race for the MSL
East title. Dix led the way with 2 goals in a slim 5-3 win over Wheeling,
while Cavaiani totaled 6 goals in an 18-8 win over Meadows.
Leah McCarthy
(Andrew)
McCarthy scored 9 goals over the weekend to lead Andrew to a third place
finish at the LWE Tournament. She tallied 4 goals in an 11-10 win over LWW
on Saturday to help the T-Bolts finish 2-1 at the event. She also put in 4
goals in a 9-7 victory over LWC on Thursday night.
Lisa Gorski (Richards)
Gorski recorded 12 goals and 6 assists in two wins over LWW and Schaumburg
in the first two rounds of the LWE Tournament, helping the Bulldogs reach
the title game of the event. She also scored 4 goals and drew 11 ejections
in a narrow 10-7 loss to the hosts in the final game.
Zoe McCabe (Lincoln-Way East)
McCabe scored 9 goals in wins over Andrew, LWW, and Richards this week,
but it was her defense that helped the Griffins' win their own tournament
this weekend and finish Week 4 with a perfect 5-0 record.
