And here we go...Shanahan wins the swimoff for McHenry. Steal by Alvarado who goes the distance but gets stonewalled by Brucki and we are still scoreless!

Moore gets the next shooting chance for the Wolfpack but Brucki blocks it out of play; Turek shoots over the net on the next possession

After a scrum in front of the Ignatius net, Dabrowski has a close-range shot blocked by Fratto

Alvarado earns his second steal, but Feltes forces a turnover on the other end for the Warriors

Turek and Juarez combine to force a turnover and we remain scoreless midway through the opening period

Moore draws a foul near 4m and drops a pass into Alvarado who connects to the left side of the cage for a 1-0 Ignatius lead!

The teams trade possessions with no scoring in the following minute; Juarez gets a chance for Ignatius from the left post and his shot bounces off the crossbar and Brucki recovers

Fratto with a save for Ignatius; the McHenry defense forces a turnover on the other end

Moore tries a lob from the left side that easily falls into the hands of Brucki and he starts the counterattack for McHenry

Nothing doing on the other end for McHenry, then Alvarado draws an ejection in the final minute of the period

Moore tries his luck from the right side but Brucki is up to the task and McHenry makes a stop after going a man down

Fratto makes a save, then Alvarado forces a turnover for Ignatius

Loose ball in front of the McHenry net and Barth draws a penalty shot! Alvarado converts to the right corner and Ignatius scores an important goal at the end of the period to make the score 2-0 after the first seven minutes of play.
