Stanton (Palatine)
Stanton helped
the Pirates take over the top spot in the MSL West conference with 5 scores in a
15-14 win over Schaumburg on Thursday. Stanton also scored 6 goals in
a 22-7
victory over Fremd earlier in the week.
Both victories helped the Pirates improve to 4-0 in the
conference and to 7-5 on the season.
GIRLS
Danijela Jackovich (Lincoln-Way Central)
Lincoln-Way Central freshman Danijela Jackovich made a
big impact for the Knights this week, helping them claim the LWE
Tournament title while earning a 6-0 record for the week. She scored a grand total of 28 goals in 6 games.
At the LWE Tournament, Jackovich totaled 8 goals and 10
steals in opening round wins over Andrew and Richards. In the final game,
she totaled 7 goals, 2 assists, and 4 steals as the Knights claimed the
tournament title for the third consecutive year.
Jackovich also
scored 5 goals in Lincoln-Way Central's 14-6 victory
over Stagg on Tuesday. She recorded 4 goals and 5 assists to lead LWC to
an 11-4 victory over Richards on Wednesday.
Finally, she scored 4 times as the Knights held off Andrew 8-5 on
Thursday.
