Week 10
The
following is a summary of what took place during the ninth week of the
season. This is not a complete list and we can only include a few people
in this summary, but the purpose is to recognize a few of the best
performances from each week.

Both players scored key goals in the Warriors' 9-8 win over Palatine.
Boys - David Zarychta
(Maine South)
Zarychta scored the game-tying and game-winning goals in the last two
minutes of the Hawks' 12-9 win over Maine East on Monday.
Girls -
Caroline Huff
(New Trier)
Huff's goal in the closing seconds of the first half proved to be vastly
important as the Trevians went on to beat Loyola 11-10.
Girls - Dani
Caldwell
(Mundelein)
Caldwell scored 3 times in the Mustangs' 15-3 win over Stevenson.
Biggest Impact
Boys - Jaime Juarez
(St Ignatius)
Juarez scored the game-winner in the final minute of the Wolfpack's 8-7
victory over Latin in the UIC Sectional.
Boys - John Osborne (Fenwick)
Osborne scored the game-winning goal in the last minute of Fenwick's 10-9
victory over Oak Park.
Boys - Reilly Shanahan
(McHenry)
Shanahan's goal in the final minute sent the Warriors to state after a 9-8
win over Palatine on Saturday.
Boys - Will Davidson (Mundelein)
Davidson's goal with two seconds remaining sent the Mustangs to the state
tournament, as they defeated Stevenson 12-11 on Saturday.
Girls - Abby
Maze
(Lincoln-Way East)
Maze connected on a goal in the second minute of sudden-death OT to lift
LWE past Andrew 8-7 on Thursday.
Girls - Hannah
Ongman
(H-F)
Ongman scored the game-tying and game-winning goals in the final minute of
H-F's 5-4 victory over Lincoln-Way East on Friday night.

Boys - Mike Fratto
(St Ignatius)
Fratto saved 15 shots in the Wolfpack's 8-7 win over Latin on Saturday.
Girls - Emily
Tylka
(Mundelein)
Tylka stopped 15 shots and allowed only 3 goals in Mundelein's 15-3 win
over Stevenson on Saturday.
Girls - Mary Bridget Barrett
(Fenwick)
Barrett recorded 13 saves in Fenwick's 15-5 win over York on Saturday.
Girls - Zara
Wysockey
(New Trier)
Wysockey made 15 saves and 2 key stops in the final period of NT's 11-10
win over Loyola.

Surprises
Boys - Stevenson
The Patriots battled back after a rough start to their season to finish
one goal and two seconds away from advancing to the state tournament.
Girls - New Trier
The Trevians got out to an 8-3 first half lead and held on to beat Loyola
11-10 to advance to state for the first time since 2002.
News and Notes
Three off days until Thursday, when the four boys'
state quarterfinals will be played. The girls play their quarterfinal
games on Friday, and the season wraps up on Saturday as both sides play
the semifinal games in the morning and the consolation and final games on
Saturday night.
