season. This is not a complete list and we can only include a few people
in this summary, but the purpose is to recognize a few of the best
performances from each week.

The Juarez standout has led the team to a 4-1 record to start the season.

- Drew Stoffel (Stagg)
Stoffel scored 7 goals to lead
Stagg past Naperville North 15-10 and into the Top 20 of this week's
rankings.
Girls - Kristy Bessler (Schaumburg)
Bessler scored 6 times to lead the Saxons to an 11-3
victory over Conant.

- Danielle Cirrintano (Neuqua Valley)
Cirrintano scored 2 goals in the Wildcats 4-3 win over McAuley and has
made a big impact for the Neuqua offense this season.
Biggest Impact
Boys
- Luke O'Connell (Oak Park)
O'Connell's lob shot from the
left side gave Oak Park a 13-11 lead late in the game and proved to be the
decisive goal in a 13-12 win at the Fenwick Tournament on Friday night.
Boys
- Luke Walker (Hinsdale Central)
Delivered the game-winner in the
final minute for the Red Devils in a 14-13 won over Conant.
Girls
- Emily Caise (Bradley)
Scored 14 of her team's 16 goals
in a 16-10 win over Morton.
Girls - Catherine Vivado (Bremen)
Vivado scored 6 goals in Bremen's surprising 13-6 win
over Sandburg and helped lift her team to a tournament title on Saturday
in an 8-1 win over Marian.
Top Goalie Performances
Boys
- David Anderson (Oak Park)
The Huskies' goaltender made a
handful of crucial saves and passes in wins over Fenwick and Naperville
Central over the weekend.
Boys
- Geno Freeman (Brother Rice)
Freeman stopped 14 shots and
helped the Crusaders beat St Ignatius 10-8 on Monday night.
Girls
- Sophie Schloen (Homewood-Flossmoor)
The Vikings' keeper recorded 10
saves and limited Evanston to just two goals in H-F's 4-2 win.
Girls - Vicki Maslowski (Oak Park)
The Huskies' goalie connected on a full-court shot at
the end of the first half to give her team a 1-0 lead over York and held
the Dukes scoreless in a 4-0 victory at the NC Tournament on Saturday.
Biggest Surprises
Boys
- Glenbrook North
The Spartans beat Evanston twice in the second week of
the season and split their two matches with rival Glenbrook South.
Boys
- Juarez
The CPS school is off to a 4-1 start behind the play of
Josue Hernandez and company.
Girls - Neuqua Valley
The Wildcats surprised Mother McAuley 4-3 over the weekend at the Lockport
Tournament.
Girls
- Schaumburg
The Saxons earned wins over Barrington and Conant as they moved towards
the top of the MSL West table.
Least Surprising Outcome
Boys
- Brother Rice and Lyons finish in a 10-10 tie
Can we make it mandatory that sudden-death overtime is in place for any
future games between Brother Rice and Lyons? This latest result shows how
evenly matched these teams are once again in 2010.
