Brad Ferris (Palatine)
Ferris supplied the bulk of the offense for the Pirates
in their 15-7 win over Buffalo Grove in the MSL title game, scoring 8
times in the victory.
Charlie Dowdle (Loyola)
Dowdle totaled 5 scores in the Ramblers' 12-11 victory
over New Trier on Monday night in Winnetka.
Eric Niemeier (Sandburg)
Niemeier scored the game-winning goal in sudden death
OT and totaled 6 goals as the Eagles beat Lincoln-Way Central 14-13 on
Monday night.
Jack Turek/Jaime Juarez (St Ignatius)
Both Turek and Juarez tallied goals in overtime to help
lift the Wolfpack to an 11-9 extra time win over Loyola in the third place
game of the MCAC Tournament. Turek totaled 6 goals in the game, while
Juarez scored 2 times for Ignatius.
John Osborne/Will Rigali (Fenwick)
The senior duo scored 8 goals apiece in Fenwick's run
to their seventh straight Catholic League title on Saturday afternoon.
Osborne notched 4 goals and Rigali contributed 3 scores in a 13-7 victory
over Loyola in the semifinals, then Rigali scored 5 goals and Osborne
added 4 more goals in a 13-9 title game win over rival Brother Rice.
Matt McClone (New Trier)
McClone scored the game-winning goal in the final two
minutes of New Trier's 8-7 title game win over Glenbrook North in the CSL
Tournament. He totaled 3 goals in the victory for the Trevians.
Matt Stelnicki (Brother Rice)
Stelnicki scored 4 times in the Crusaders' 13-9
semifinal win over St Ignatius on Saturday afternoon at the MCAC
Tournament. He also registered 6 goals to keep Brother Rice close in a
13-9 title game loss to Fenwick.
Michael Nield (STC North)
Nield played a big role in the North Stars' 3-0 mark in
Week 9, racking up 13 goals in the three wins for STC North.
Reilly Shanahan (McHenry)
Shanahan recorded 6 goals in the Warriors' 11-9 win
over Waubonsie Valley
Russell Maanum/Shay Banton (H-F)
Maanum totaled 12 goals and Banton added 9 scores in
the Vikings' wins over LWC and Sandburg this week.
Sam Lopez (Curie)
Lopez recorded 11 total goals in Curie's 14-10 victory
over Young in the CPS title game on Saturday.
GIRLS
Abbey Kerth (Naperville Central)
Kerth scored 10 times over the weekend at the Stevenson
Tournament, leading the Redhawks to wins over the hosts, Lincoln-Way
Central, and Neuqua Valley.
Alex White/Ember McCoy (Waubonsie Valley)
White and McCoy each recorded 3 goals to help lift the
Warriors to an 8-6 over Stevenson on Wednesday.
Ana Chavez/Cassidy O'Connell (Lane)
Chavez and O'Connell each scored 3 times in Lane's 9-8
victory over Young in the Chicago Public League title game on Saturday
night.
Anna Horstkotte/Sophia Palmer (New Trier)
Palmer recorded 10 goals and Horstkotte totaled 9
scores to lead the New Trier offense in wins over Evanston, GBN, and
Highland Park at the CSL Tournament. Horstkotte led the team with 3 goals
in a 7-1 title game win over Evanston, while Palmer scored 9 times in two
early round wins.
Cassie Jo Miller/Emma Martinus (Bremen)
Martinus totaled 8 goals and Miller added 7 scores in a
pair of wins over Naperville North and Wheeling this week.
Celeste Almarez (St
Ignatius)
Almarez scored 7 goals in the Wolfpack's 13-7 semifinal
win over Loyola in the MCAC Tournament on Saturday. She also added 3
scores in a 15-13 overtime loss to Fenwick in the title game.
Danielle Cirrintano (Neuqua Valley)
Cirrintano blocked 14 shots in the Wildcats 9-7
decision over Sandburg earlier in the week.
Erika Lauraitis (Fremd)
Lauraitis helped lift the Vikings to a 13-5 win over
Mother McAuley on Monday with a 6-goal performance against the Macs.
Evelyn Kurzac/Sarah Tylka (Mundelein)
Kurzac recorded 13 goals in the Mustangs' tournament on
Saturday, helping the team earn wins over Buffalo Grove, Latin, and
Prospect. Tylka registered 37 saves in the three games, allowing less than
4 goals per game in the wins.
Julie Conrath (Fremd)
Conrath stopped 12 shots in a 7-4 win over Wheeling in the MSL title game
and also made 16 saves in a 13-5 win over Mother McAuley on Monday.
Christa Khatcherian (Wheeling)
Khatcherian
totaled 3 goals, drew 4 ejections, and allowed no
goals on the defensive end to lead the Wildcats to a 6-3 win over New
Trier on Tuesday.
Kirby Kaptur/Lizzy Kosin (Lyons)
Kosin scored 10 goals and Kaptur added 9 scores in the
Lions' 17-0 and 18-1 wins over Oak Park and York at the WSC Tournament.
Kosin also scored 4 times and Kaptur added 3 scores in LT's 15-5 victory
over Bremen.
Grace Trilla (Lyons)
Trilla allowed only one goal in two wins over Oak Park
and York to help the Lions win the West Suburban Conference tournament.
Her performance against Oak Park was her fifth shutout of the season for
undefeated Lyons.
Rebecca Mathews (H-F)
Mathews recorded 5 goals in the Vikings' 11-1 victory over
Lincoln-Way East and also totaled 4 goals in H-F's 7-3 win over Lincoln-Way
Central.
Sophie Schloen (H-F)
Schloen allowed just one goal and made 17 saves in the
Vikings' 11-1 win over Lincoln-Way East on Tuesday. She followed that
performance with 14 saves in a 7-3 win over Lincoln-Way Central on Friday.
