afternoon.
Drew Schmitt/Reilly Shanahan (McHenry)
Schmitt and Shanahan both scored 3 goals and Shanahan
scored the game-winning goal in the final minute of a 9-8 win over
Palatine at the Barrington Sectional.
Jaime Juarez/Mike Fratto (St Ignatius)
Juarez connected on the game-winning goal in the final
minute of the Wolfpack's 8-7 win over Latin on Saturday. On the other end,
Fratto totaled 15 saves in a solid defensive effort for St Ignatius.
Mark Menis/Ryan Stanley (Naperville Central)
Menis and Stanley each recorded 5 goals as the Redhawks
dominated the action against Waubonsie Valley to win 26-8 in the final
game of the Neuqua Valley Sectional.
Will Davidson (Mundelein)
Davidson tallied 3 goals, one being the game-winner
with two seconds remaining, to lift the Mustangs to the state tournament
with a 12-11 win over Stevenson in the final game of the Vernon Hills
Sectional.
Will Rigali/John Osborne (Fenwick)
Rigali totaled 5 goals and Osborne scored his third
goal in the final minute of Fenwick's 10-9 victory over Oak Park in the
final game of the York Sectional.
GIRLS
Celeste Almarez (St Ignatius)
Almarez led St Ignatius to a 13-5 victory over Young with a 5-goal
performance on Saturday at Lyons.
Claire Fleming (Naperville
Central)
Fleming scored two straight goals in the second period
and totaled 11 steals on the defensive end in Naperville Central's 8-5 win
over Waubonsie Valley.
