Charlie Shaw (Loyola)
Shaw made significant contributions during the week for
Loyola, scoring 10 goals in two wins over Glenbrook South and Latin.
He scored 4 times in Loyola's come-from-behind win over
GBS, helping the Ramblers clinch the top seed at next month's GBN
Sectional.
On Wednesday, he led Loyola with 6 goals in a 10-8
victory over Latin.
Finally, Shaw closed the week with 11 goals at the
Brother Rice Tournament.
Chris Wendt (Fenwick)
Wendt was the leading scorer in #1 Fenwick's 17-6 win over #2
Naperville Central on Wednesday night. Last year's POTY scored 6 times,
including two in the opening period, as Fenwick continued their undefeated
season in 2009.
GIRLS
Celeste Almarez (St
Ignatius)
Almarez helped lead the Wolfpack to four wins during
the seventh week of the season, as St Ignatius beat #3 Lyons, #6 Sandburg,
#14 Latin, and Northside.
Almarez led the Wolfpack with 4 goals in Saturday's 7-1
win over Lyons. She also added 2 goals in the win over Sandburg and
finished the week with 13 total goals and 16 steals.
Katherine Pike
(Riverside-Brookfield)
Pike scored 20 goals on Friday and Saturday, leading
R-B to a 4-0 record as they earned wins over Richards, Argo, Shepard, and
Northside in Week 7.
