BOYS

Mike Byron (Barrington)

Byron helped the Broncos finish the week with a 5-1 record, including an upset win over Stevenson in the Lake County Tournament on Friday night. He scored 4 goals and added 2 assists in the win over the Patriots, while scoring 6 times in a victory over Libertyville on Friday night as well.

Earlier in the week, he scored 6 goals in a win over Conant and added 4 scores in a victory over Hoffman Estates. The Broncos remained perfect in the Mid-Suburban League West with the two wins.

GIRLS

Erika Lauraitis (Fremd)

Lauraitis helped lead the Vikings to the St Charles North Tournament title as Fremd improved to 8-1 after two weeks of water polo in 2009.

She scored 6 goals in victories over Buffalo Grove and Andrew and added 8 scores in their win over Conant in the first round of the tournament.

Earlier in the week, she scored a total of 13 goals in conference wins over Conant and Palatine in MSL West action.

Amy Wilson (Wheeling)

Wilson helped Wheeling finish 3-0 in the second week of the season, including wins over Prospect, Highland Park, and Vernon Hills.

She scored 6 goals in the Wildcats' come-from-behind victory over Prospect, helping lead her team back from a 5-1 first half deficit.

She also added 4 goals in Monday night's 9-7 win over Highland Park.
