Tom Parolin/Chris Wendt
(Fenwick)
Tom Parolin scored 14 goals and Chris Wendt added 13 goals to lead Fenwick to a
4-0 record at the Dan Lynch Classic on Friday night and Saturday afternoon in
Oak Park. The Friars clinched the tournament title with wins over Brother Rice
and Naperville North in the first place bracket. They advanced to the
championship round by beating Oak Park and Evanston on Friday night.
In the first game against Oak Park, both Parolin and
Wendt scored 4 goals apiece as the Friars cruised to an 18-2 victory. In the
second preliminary round game, Wendt led the Friars with 4 goals and Parolin
added one score in an 18-1 win over Evanston.
On Saturday, Fenwick defeated rival Brother Rice
20-9 as Parolin scored 5 goals and Wendt added 2 scores. In the final game of
the tournament, Fenwick crushed Naperville North 15-1, as Parolin scored 5 goals
and added 2 assists and Wendt totaled 3 goals and also recorded 5 assists and 4
steals in the win.
GIRLS
Val Poulos
(Oak Park)
Val Poulos scored 4 goals as the Huskies traveled to Lincolnshire and knocked
off Stevenson 8-3 on Monday night. She also added 2
assists, 3 steals, and drew 3 ejections in the win.
Poulos led Oak Park to their second win of Week 3 with 6 goals and 2 steals as the Huskies beat West Suburban Conference foe
York 13-3 on Tuesday night.
The two wins helped Oak Park improve to 5-2 on the
season and also moved them into the Top 10 after Week 3.
Poulos was also instrumental in the Huskies'
second-place finish last Saturday at the Naperville Central Tournament. She
scored 2 goals and added 5 steals in an 8-2 win over Naperville North, totaled 5
goals in Oak Park's 10-4 victory over York, and had 4 goals and an assist in a
championship game loss to Naperville Central.
