Chicago, IL -- After several years of cramming
as many as thirty games into an eight-week schedule, the water polo season
in Illinois has been extended to include an additional week for regular
season competition.
The first games can be played on March 5 for
the upcoming season, while Sectionals take place between May 7-12 and the
state tournament occurs between May 17-19.
The extra seven days could offer many benefits
to teams across the state, as they have the ability to spread out their
schedules a bit more and should also have a bit more time to get back on
track after Spring Break.
