Sean Coghlan
(Brother Rice)
Coghlan led the Crusaders to a quarterfinal win
over Loyola on Thursday night, then scored 8 goals to help Brother Rice
avenge an early season loss to St Ignatius on Saturday. The win gave the
Crusaders a third place finish in the MCAC Conference Tournament.
Brett Krahn (Conant)
Krahn set a team record by scoring 11 goals in a
17-9 win over St Charles East on Tuesday night. He has recorded 120 goals
this season for the Cougars, who are the #2 seed at the Palatine Sectional.
GIRLS
Brittany Walk
(Naperville Central)
After recording her 1000th career save, Walk
helped lead #5 Naperville Central to an 11-10 overtime win over #3 Mother
McAuley on Monday night. A four-year starter for the Redhawks, Walk made 11
saves to lead Central to the upset victory.
Kathleen Maloney (St Ignatius)
Maloney scored the tying goal in overtime
against Loyola with just 0:13 seconds remaining on a counterattack, then
scored on a shot from mid-pool with just 0:05 seconds left to give the
Wolfpack a 12-11 victory over the Ramblers on Saturday at Fenwick. The win
helped St Ignatius earn a third place finish at the MCAC Championships this
weekend.
