Dave Steinberger
(Andrew)
Dave has been a key offensive force for Andrew
in 2006, helping them achieve a 7-5 record.
Steinberger scored 5 goals and added an assist
and a steal early in the week in a 13-5 win over Riverside-Brookfield. On
Saturday, he helped Andrew escape with a 15-11 overtime win over Stagg,
scoring 3 goals in the win. Finally, on Tuesday night, he totaled 7 of his
team's 9 goals as they fell short of an upset in a 10-9 loss to #11
Sandburg.
GIRLS
Colleen Shaw
(Loyola)
Colleen led the Ramblers to a 4-0 record en
route to the St Ignatius Tournament title on Saturday afternoon. She scored
4 goals in the championship game, a 9-8 win over host #4 St Ignatius, and
totaled 17 goals, 8 assists, and drew 10 kickouts in the four-game
tournament.
Earlier in the week, Shaw led Loyola to a 10-6
victory over Oak Park, scoring 5 goals in the win. #8 Loyola has now
improved to 15-5 on the season.
Rosie Fischl
(Glenbrook South)
Rosie led the Titans to a 3-1 record in Week
5, which included wins over Deerfield, Elk Grove, and Palatine and a close
loss to #10 Evanston.
Fischl totaled 4 goals, 5 steals, and 2 assists
in a 14-5 win over Deerfield, had 5 goals, 10 steals and 2 assists in a 9-3
triumph over Palatine, then followed those performances with 3 goals, 6
steals, and an assist in a 6-4 loss to Evanston. To close out the week,
Rosie had 3 goals, 8 steals and 2 assists in a 14-2 win over Elk Grove.
