Illpolo.com Super Ballers
Week 4
BOYS
***Dave Perry
(Fenwick)***
Dave Perry, the head coach of #1 Fenwick, won
his 600th water polo game on Friday night against St Rita, a 15-3 victory.
The Friars have now increased their record to 16-0 thus far in 2006 and are
looking to defend their state title in the next six weeks.
Just to ad lib here, I wanted to also include a
special word of thanks to Dave for his support of Illpolo.com and the sport
of water polo in Illinois. When I started the site, I figured that it would
be difficult to get the support of the one of the most accomplished coaches
in the sport, but Dave has always been extremely supportive of the efforts
of this site and that has gone a long way towards increasing the exposure
and coverage of water polo in Illinois, from the original and most
established teams to the newer, developing schools. We all owe a great deal
of thanks to Fenwick head coach Dave Perry.
GIRLS
Rachel Peyton/Erin Reilly
(Lincoln-Way East)
Rachel scored four girls in the first half
against rival Lincoln-Way Central to help the Griffins win their own
tournament by a score of 8-6. Erin also scored three times in the win,
helping Lincoln-Way East go 3-0 at home this weekend.
Reilly also contributed 6 goals in the Griffins
win over Stagg earlier in the week, while Peyton added 3 scores. Reilly led
all scores with 6 more goals in a 15-14, sudden-death victory over Marian
Catholic.
Lincoln-Way East also beat Lincoln-Way Central
twice this week, and both girls helped lead the team to a 5-0 record in Week
4.
