Week 1

BOYS

Tyler Rayomme (Mundelein) VIDEO

Mundelein's starting goalie helped the Mustangs start the season with a 3-0 record in wins over #10 Stevenson, #13 Evanston, and #22 Palatine. In his senior year, Rayomme takes over in the net for Andrew Peterson, who will now play in the field full-time in 2006.

Rayomme allowed only one goal in a 9-1 win on Wednesday night to help the Mustangs avenge their loss to Evanston in last year's state tournament. He also had a strong performance in a 7-4 win over Palatine and led Mundelein past rival Stevenson on Thursday night 11-7.

GIRLS

Michelle Mulhull (Sandburg) VIDEO

Mulhall helped the #9 Eagles start the season with a 3-1 record, as the hole set was the team's leading scorer in wins over #10 St Viator (6 goals) and #19 Naperville North (4 goals).

She also scored once in a 9-7 victory over #6 Evanston and added two goals in a close loss to #9 New Trier over the weekend.

Overall, Mulhall tallied 13 goals in 4 games and helped lead the Eagles to a second place finish at the New Trier Tournament on Saturday.

Molly Twigg (New Trier) VIDEO

Twigg scored 6 goals in a 10-6 triumph over #9 Sandburg in the opening game of the New Trier Tournament on Saturday. She also added a goal in a 7-6 win over #10 St Viator in the second game of the tournament and contributed 3 scores in an 11-8 loss in the final game against #6 Evanston.

New Trier has since jumped in the rankings to #8 after the first week of the season.

Grace Hatcher (Evanston) VIDEO

In both of Evanston's big wins at the New Trier Tournament on Saturday night, Hatcher tallied 3 goals in both games to help the Wildkits win the overall title. She scored 3 times against #10 St Viator in the teams' first game, an 8-6 win, while throwing in 3 more scores in the final game against #9 New Trier.

The Wildkits have now earned the #6 ranking after Week 1 of the regular season in 2006.
