BOYS
Tyler Rayomme
(Mundelein) VIDEO
Mundelein's starting goalie helped the Mustangs
start the season with a 3-0 record in wins over #10 Stevenson, #13 Evanston,
and #22 Palatine. In his senior year, Rayomme takes over in the net for
Andrew Peterson, who will now play in the field full-time in 2006.
Rayomme allowed only one goal in a 9-1 win on
Wednesday night to help the Mustangs avenge their loss to Evanston in last
year's state tournament. He also had a strong performance in a 7-4 win over
Palatine and led Mundelein past rival Stevenson on Thursday night 11-7.
GIRLS
Michelle Mulhull
(Sandburg) VIDEO
Mulhall helped the #9 Eagles start the season
with a 3-1 record, as the hole set was the team's leading scorer in wins
over #10 St Viator (6 goals) and #19 Naperville North (4 goals).
She also scored once in a 9-7 victory over #6
Evanston and added two goals in a close loss to #9 New Trier over the
weekend.
Overall, Mulhall tallied 13 goals in 4 games and
helped lead the Eagles to a second place finish at the New Trier Tournament
on Saturday.
Molly Twigg
(New Trier) VIDEO
Twigg scored 6 goals in a 10-6 triumph over #9
Sandburg in the opening game of the New Trier Tournament on Saturday. She
also added a goal in a 7-6 win over #10 St Viator in the second game of the
tournament and contributed 3 scores in an 11-8 loss in the final game
against #6 Evanston.
New Trier has since jumped in the rankings to #8
after the first week of the season.
Grace Hatcher
(Evanston) VIDEO
In both of Evanston's big wins at the New Trier
Tournament on Saturday night, Hatcher tallied 3 goals in both games to help
the Wildkits win the overall title. She scored 3 times against #10 St Viator
in the teams' first game, an 8-6 win, while throwing in 3 more scores in the
final game against #9 New Trier.
The Wildkits have now earned the #6 ranking
after Week 1 of the regular season in 2006.
